Green Campus Computing does not suggest painting the campus green and everyone inside do computing
Green Campus Computing is founded by Dr. Kenneth C. Green, this project promotes environmental conservation
through promoting it to campuses around the globe.
The University of Southeastern Philippines supports this project and applied it to the campus. As a student, as the majority in the population in the university we were the main user of this techie stuffs inside the school..
i suggest this: The University could motivate students to conserve energy by setting itself as example. Staffs and Faculties for instance must practice it so that it will be visible to the students.
Proper Waste management. Unused stuffs like monitors, keyboards, devices, machines could have its proper disposal instead of keeping it stuck in a room.
Practice conserve energy by turning off unused lights, computers, aircon and other devices.
REduce using unnecessary resources such as papers. Print as little and when it is needed. Avoid using screensavers because it consumes energy.instead you could turn it off or sleep mode.

Anything in this world changes. That is a fact. So even System in companies do changing in thier management eventhough they were satisfied with it. Everything is subject to changes.
Let us see how Lapanday deals with the changes
Changing the system is important because it reforemats the current error
that renders the progress of the company.
But changes does not only mean more progress to the company but also risk that may happen.
Changes may somehow be implemented for the goodness of the company but sometimes
it may cause conflicts maybe to the management, business flows or the manpower itself.
risk on the management-the management itself implements the system.but the
risk is what if the management could not handle well the newly implemented
system and instead of bringing the company up,it'll just pull it down.
risk on the business flows- not all changed system/IS/business works thouroughly.
For instance the information system is not comaptible in the business. That is a risk.
or the company boasts its business flow and strategy as one of its strengths yet the newly implemented system hinders the company flows.
risk on manpower- there is always the so called resistant on the manpower when implementing
the new system. It may be because they doesnt like the new system or they could not adopt on the changes.

The very next day we searched on different companies here in Metro Davao and we sited these following companies: Phoenix Fuel Life
June 24,2009- Me and my classmates roam around Davao City to find some prospect companies for this assignment.
First we went to AMS group of Companies but unfurtunately we were rejected.
We then decided to make a list of possible companies that could be a good prospect. Trying our luck, we went to Phoenix Fuel depot to conduct ambush interview because we were in a rush. unfurtunately they rejected us. Lapanday Foods Corporation
Luckily, we approach Lapanday Foods Cororation and approved our request to conduct an interview.
Company Profile:
Lapanday Foods Corporation started its company from humble small seed. the company started the three lots of land
for a banana plantation but unfurtunaletly flourished in 1970s and been abandoned on 1980s because banana eporters were depressed as the world oversuly of banana. Luis F. Lorenzo,Sr.,saw the chances of growing the farm into a fruitful land, the Lorenzos acquired the land Guihing, Lapanday, and Cadeco farms from the Ayala-Aboitiz group in 1982.
They continue to be a reliable supplier of bananas while they strive to gain markets for other fruits and vegetables sourced in the Philippines and abroad. Their international networks deliver their products to more and more buyers in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions, where their brands are increasingly being recognized for freshness, quality, and added value.
Today, Lapanday Foods Corporation is one of the leading fresh food growers int the country.
Best IT practices of the company:
IT infrastructure- businesses nowadays see to it that their data keeping system is good enough to secure data management. The company somehow builds its IT infrastructure to be more complex and support the network to a more smooth and could adopt the challenges of the company. The better the IT infrastructure, the better the business process.
Organizational productivity- Organizational productivity means a lot to every organization. If every single personnel in the organization is lazy, there is no chance for that organization to improve. Good enough for Lapanday Foods Corporation because they promote organizational productivity which means improvement not just for the organizational but also for the employees as well.
Biometrics- Lapanday is using this device in checking the attendance of the employees. Specifically, they are using the Bar Code Attendance System. The bar code can be seen in their ID. The employees just swipe their ID's to the device and the Time In or Time-out will automatically be recorded.

Assignment #9
Look for various definitions of personnel management and human resource management and their authors and sources (minimum of 5). Critique each.
1st: HUman Resource Management
by Carter McNamara, MBA, PhD
The Human Resources Management (HRM) function includes a variety of activities, and key among them is deciding what staffing needs you have and whether to use independent contractors or hire employees to fill these needs, recruiting and training the best employees, ensuring they are high performers, dealing with performance issues, and ensuring your personnel and management practices conform to various regulations. Activities also include managing your approach to employee benefits and compensation, employee records and personnel policies.

:suspect: my comment: the autorhs definition on the human resource management had cater all the possible meaning of the HRM, i believe that if all HR manager has read his definition would certainly realize that managing the HR dept. is not just managing employees but also caring for the employees
2nd: (Cherrington, 1995, p. 5).
Human resource management is responsible for how people are treated in organizations. It is responsible for bringing people into the organization, helping them perform their work, compensating them for their labors, and solving problems that arise" comment: the human Resources management as defined by the author is the main instrument in bringing human resources and the working environment together. The HR dept. is the one that motivates human resources to work.

What Is HRM?
Human Resource Management is based on ideas and techniques developed to enhance worker motivation, productivity and performance.
The HRM model emphasises:
the need to search for new ways of working
the central role of managers in promoting change
the treatment of workers as individuals rather than part of a collective workforce
the encouragement of workers to consider management as 'partners' rather than as opponents - 'us and us', rather than 'us and them' comment: i think the one of the real main goal of the HR dept. is to motivate employees to work, to make the work place enjoyable rather than stressing. To gain peers in the workplace.

Personnel Management
A personnel management system allows human resource team to manage the best candidate for each open job requisition. The personnel management solution also provides templates that can be used to standardize personnel management communication. comment: hmmmm... i don't think so...personnel management is more on to making policies for the best of the organization.

I am a Sagittarian:)
SAGITTARIUS PERSONALITY
Bold, dashing and spirited. It's a bit difficult to keep pace with you - whether it is in your movements or in your speech. You like to be free as the wind that blows, quite uncaring of the effect you may have on your surroundings. You could not care less and hate being in an atmosphere that is physically or emotionally claustrophobic. Somewhat lacking in tact, your foot-in-the-mouth syndrome could do with a little thought. Nevertheless, you are honest but more than a little tactless. Sagittarians are ambitious - always aiming higher than the goal they initially set for themselves. You love challenges and are too full of energy to sit still. Although you see yourself more as a sportsperson than an intellectual, you secretly enjoy reading, writing, and exploring subjects unknown to you. You are a good learner and would do extremely well as an academician. You are quite popular, albeit a bit unconventional and are loyal to your friends. Many of you enjoy the patronage of influential people but unfortunately; you will also have your share of enemies who mean serious harm. You are often driven by excitement and can be a bit ungainly when in this state; sweeping gestures tend to send things flying. You are sometimes insecure and edgy. You tend to doubt your decisions and judgement. The advice is - trust your instinct. Avoid going by what people tell you if you want to succeed in your work. A word of caution though -- your instincts may not work too well when you are betting, gambling and speculating, and you may end up losing heavily.
